Answer
Why do websites think my Starlink connection is in another town or region?
Websites often estimate location from the internet-facing IP address rather than the position of your dish. Starlink says its IP geolocation can be farther away than your physical location, and a specific local area is not guaranteed.
First distinguish a website's IP estimate from a phone's GPS location or your Starlink service address. Our checklist is to note the affected sites, check any VPN or proxy, and review the site's saved region and browser location permissions.
If a streaming or local service shows the wrong country or refuses access, contact that service with the exact error and raise a Starlink support request if necessary. Do not change the registered service address to an unrelated place just to influence a website.
Avoid assuming that every wrong-city result means your account is compromised. Keep screenshots free of personal addresses or payment information when seeking help.
