Questions & answers

Clear, practical answers to the things people want to know before and after choosing Starlink.

Answer

Why has my Starlink Wi-Fi network name disappeared?

Check whether the name is missing on every device or only one. A phone's Wi-Fi scan, the router's broadcast and the satellite connection are separate things.

Stand near the router and refresh the network list on two devices. Then review:

  • Power to the router.
  • A recent network-name change.
  • A reset or new setup that may have restored a default network.
  • Whether a third-party router now provides Wi-Fi.
  • Whether bypass mode was intentionally enabled.
  • Any app or hardware alert.

Do not assume an unlit indicator means the router is dead: indicator behaviour depends on the model and some lights turn off during normal operation.

If one device sees the network, troubleshoot the other device first. If neither sees it, follow the matching hardware guide before attempting a reset.

If a default network appears, configure it securely rather than leaving it open. Keep the previous name and password available if you intend to restore the household setup.
