Answer
Can I put the Starlink router and power supply in a cupboard?
Only if the placement meets the exact equipment's ventilation and environmental requirements. A closed cupboard can trap heat and weaken Wi-Fi, particularly if it contains metalwork or other warm equipment.
Keep ventilation openings clear and avoid stacking the power supply under other devices. Do not cover equipment with bedding, papers or storage boxes. Use a dry location and prevent cable strain when a door opens or closes.
Compare the same connection test with the router in a suitable open position. If only distant Wi-Fi improves, placement may be the main issue. If the entire system was restarting, record whether improved airflow changes that behaviour.
Do not drill cooling holes into the equipment or use improvised modifications. If a cupboard is unavoidable for the network equipment, a separate wired access point in a better location may address coverage, while the enclosed equipment still needs adequate ventilation.
