Questions & answers

Clear, practical answers to the things people want to know before and after choosing Starlink.

Answer

Why is my site-to-site VPN connected but the other Starlink network is unreachable?

The tunnel can be online while traffic to a device beyond it is blocked or misrouted. Check the network path after confirming the VPN peers are connected.

First compare the local address ranges at both properties. Identical ranges are a common problem in a basic site-to-site design. Then check that the intended remote range is advertised or routed and that return traffic has a valid path.

Test one known service by its IP address. If that works but its hostname does not, investigate name resolution. If neither works, check the gateway rules and the destination device's own firewall and service settings.

Do not treat a failed ping alone as proof of failure: some devices ignore ping while their application works. Keep internet browsing local at each site during the first test and add broader routes only after the single intended service is reliable.
