Answer
Why can I browse the internet but the Starlink app cannot find my dish?
The app's path to the equipment can fail even while ordinary internet traffic works. Check the phone's network, app permissions and the routing arrangement before assuming the dish is offline.
Confirm that the phone is connected to the intended local Wi-Fi rather than mobile data or an isolated guest network. Check that you selected the correct service in the account. If the problem affects one phone only, compare its settings with a phone that can reach the equipment.
A third-party router may require model-specific configuration for local access to Starlink. Use the router's documentation and Starlink's app guidance rather than adding an arbitrary route.
If a VPN appears to be involved, perform a brief authorised comparison and restore it afterward. Preserve working settings while investigating. Resetting a healthy network can turn an app-access issue into an avoidable outage.
