Answer
Can I bury a Starlink cable directly in the garden?
Do not assume that a cable supplied for outdoor use is suitable for direct burial. Check the instructions for the exact cable and kit before putting it underground.
A buried route needs more planning than placing a cable in a trench. Consider protection from digging and crushing, water collecting in conduit, suitable entry seals and a way to replace the cable later. Conduit does not automatically make an unsuitable cable appropriate for a wet environment.
Have an installer identify existing services and choose a route and protection method appropriate to the property. Keep a record of the finished route and avoid hidden joins that cannot be inspected.
Before anything is covered, test the complete connection and photograph the accessible work. If you are extending the network to another building, discuss a fibre link as well as copper Ethernet. The best route for local networking may differ from the route required for the powered dish cable.
