Answer
Can I install Starlink indoors behind a window or in a loft?
Plan for a suitable outdoor dish position. Starlink requires a clear view of the sky, and a roof or the surrounding building can obstruct that view. Seeing some sky through a window is not enough to establish a reliable installation.
A brief indoor connection is not a dependable test for all satellite positions or weather conditions. Our recommendation is to compare safely accessible outdoor locations with the app's obstruction tool and then test normal use before choosing permanent fixings.
The router and power components need their own model-specific placement; moving the dish outdoors does not mean every part of the kit belongs outside.
If you cannot obtain a suitable outdoor position, ask an installer to assess the options before buying mounts or drilling. Do not choose an indoor installation merely to avoid resolving the outdoor cable route.
