how much per month for cheapest phone USA TENNESSEE

how much per month for cheapest phone USA TENNESSEE

Replies (1)

Thanks for your question. Do you mean the cheapest mobile phone plan, a home telephone service that runs over Starlink, or the cheapest Starlink internet plan for your home in Tennessee? Those are different services, so we need that detail before comparing monthly costs. If you already have Starlink and want a home telephone, a compatible internet-phone (VoIP) provider can use that connection. Compare the total monthly charge, taxes/fees, included calls, any adapter cost and emergency-calling arrangements. We have not identified a cheapest suitable provider from the details given. These may help if you mean a home phone: - [Our home and business VoIP guide](https://starlink-tips.com/guides/tips-tricks/does-starlink-work-with-voip-home-business-calls) explains apps, handsets and adapters. - [Does Starlink work with VoIP?](https://starlink-tips.com/questions/does-starlink-work-with-voip) gives a shorter overview. Do you already have Starlink, and do you want mobile service or a home phone? Please do not post your telephone number, account details or exact home address. Once the service type is clear, we can check relevant US providers' current offers rather than quote an unrelated headline price.

Troubleshooting & Fixes

Double NAT

My device is experiencing the one-way audio issues. I've checked with my carrier, and they have detected a Double NAT that is set up on the ISP side. The carrier recommends to disable the double NAT, because that's usually the reason why people may experience one way audio. Is it possible to disable the double NAT for my network?

Replies (1)

There are two different NAT layers to check. An extra router behind the Starlink router can create local double NAT. Separately, Starlink Residential and Roam use carrier-grade NAT (CGNAT) upstream. Removing the first does not remove the second. If you have your own router behind Starlink, ask your network/phone provider to check the layout. On supported equipment, Starlink bypass mode lets your own router manage the network and removes the Starlink router's local routing layer. It disables Starlink Wi-Fi, so make sure the replacement router is ready. Bypass mode is not a CGNAT off switch. For the one-way audio, ask your VoIP provider to inspect SIP/RTP and NAT traversal settings on the actual phone/router setup. One-way audio alone does not prove NAT is the cause. Starlink also documents that CGNAT session limits can affect calls. If your provider confirms that a public IPv4 address is required, discuss an eligible Priority plan and the public-IP configuration with Starlink; do not assume an upgrade alone guarantees a cure. What Starlink plan, router and VoIP provider are you using? Please omit public IPs and account credentials. landline phone

Can you keep your same landline phone number when switching to starlink

Replies (1)

Usually yes, if a telephone provider can port your particular number. Changing your internet to Starlink does not automatically transfer your landline number. You can either keep a separate existing telephone service, where available, or ask a VoIP telephone provider to transfer the number and carry calls over your Starlink connection. Confirm that it supports your number and location before ordering. Let the new telephone provider arrange the port, and keep the old phone service active until it confirms completion. Your existing handset may need a compatible telephone adapter, or you can use an IP phone or app supplied/supported by the VoIP provider. Check charges, emergency-calling arrangements and power-cut behaviour. Ask the old provider whether porting would also cancel bundled broadband. If an alarm or medical device uses the line, check compatibility with its provider before switching. Which country and telephone provider are you with? Please do not post your phone number or account details publicly. Security system not calling monitor company

Do I need additional equipment to make VOIP with Starlink? My security system is not calling the monitoring company.

Replies (1)

Possibly, but please have your alarm company identify the communication method before buying a VoIP adapter. An older alarm that dials over an analogue phone line may not reliably send its alarm signals through an ordinary internet-phone adapter. A working voice call does not prove that alarm reporting works. Tell the monitoring company the alarm panel model and that you now use Starlink. Ask whether the panel supports their approved internet communicator, cellular communicator or both, and whether an installer must replace or reconfigure anything. Equipment requirements depend on your panel and monitoring service; we cannot diagnose that from the question alone. Ask them to put the system into their agreed test mode, perform an end-to-end alarm test, and confirm receipt at the monitoring centre. Arrange this before testing so you do not trigger an unnecessary emergency response. Until they confirm success, treat remote monitoring as unverified. Ask about cellular backup and battery protection for the alarm and any internet equipment it depends on. Who is your monitoring provider, and what is the alarm panel model? Please do not post alarm codes or your address. Home Phones and Business Calls — https://starlink-tips.com/guides/tips-tricks/does-starlink-work-with-voip-home-business-calls Explains phone adapters and why alarms need a separate compatibility check. We have not included a generic alarm video because your panel and monitoring provider are not yet known; model-specific instructions are needed.

How to port AT&T voip phone number to starlink?

Replies (1)

You would normally port your AT&T number to a separate VoIP telephone provider that works over Starlink, rather than porting it into the Starlink internet subscription. Ask the receiving VoIP provider to check whether it can port your specific number and support calls over Starlink. It will arrange the transfer with AT&T and tell you which account details and authorisation it needs. Keep your AT&T phone service active until the port completes. Because you have AT&T VoIP rather than necessarily an AT&T mobile line, do not assume the mobile Number Transfer PIN procedure applies; confirm the requirements for your exact AT&T service. Check whether porting the phone number affects any bundled AT&T broadband or other services. You may use a compatible IP phone, telephone adapter or app, depending on the new provider. Ask it about emergency calling, registering your service address and what happens during power/internet outages. Which AT&T phone product do you have, and do you want to keep using your existing handset? Please do not post account numbers, PINs or your full address here.
