Making calls on Starlink
My Starlink internet is working but I cannot make calls or receive them on my Google Pixel 9 phone. Incoming calls go straight to voicemail.

Hi Peter. Browsing over Starlink and making ordinary calls on your mobile number are separate things: the Pixel also needs working mobile coverage or your mobile provider's Wi-Fi Calling service. Going straight to voicemail does not, by itself, establish a Starlink fault. Please try these checks in order: 1. On the Pixel 9, open Settings > Network & internet > SIMs > select the SIM used for calls > Wi-Fi calling, and enable it. Menu wording can vary with software and provider. If the option is missing or will not stay enabled, ask your mobile provider to check Pixel 9 compatibility and activate Wi-Fi Calling on your line. 2. Restart the phone, install available Android/Phone app updates and toggle Wi-Fi Calling off and back on. Beside the Starlink router, look for a Wi-Fi Calling/Internet call indicator. Make a normal outgoing call and ask someone to call you back. 3. Check that Do Not Disturb/Bedtime mode is not silencing calls. This can explain missing a ring, but would not explain failure to make outgoing calls. 4. Compare the same phone on another working Wi-Fi network. Separately, with Wi-Fi off, test mobile calls somewhere with a known good mobile signal. If calls fail there too, start with your mobile provider rather than changing Starlink settings. 5. If it works on other Wi-Fi but fails over Starlink, briefly test without a phone VPN and, where practical, on the main Starlink Wi-Fi instead of a separate router. Restore protections after testing. Ask the carrier to investigate Wi-Fi Calling registration and IP-location restrictions; Starlink lists these as possible causes, not a confirmed diagnosis for your phone. Do not factory-reset equipment or open firewall ports at this stage. Which UK mobile provider are you with? Does the Wi-Fi Calling option appear, and do calls work away from home on mobile coverage or another Wi-Fi network? Please share only these general details, not your number, account details or full address. Use ordinary numbers for test calls, never emergency numbers.
