Answer
Should I choose Starlink or full-fibre broadband?
If full-fibre broadband is available at a sensible price, compare it carefully before ordering Starlink. Full fibre brings an optical cable all the way to the property; an older service advertised as fibre may still use copper for the final connection.
Our decision checklist is to obtain address-specific quotes, compare upload as well as download performance, and include installation and recurring costs. Ask what each provider can actually supply, rather than comparing a future fibre rollout with a Starlink order available now.
Starlink can be a practical alternative where the wired option is poor or unavailable. It can also provide a different access route as backup. For either role, include a suitable dish position, electricity and indoor networking in the comparison. A second subscription is only worthwhile if its benefit justifies the ongoing cost.
