Questions & answers

Clear, practical answers to the things people want to know before and after choosing Starlink.

Answer

What routine maintenance does a Starlink installation need?

Focus on inspection and early signs of trouble. A working installation does not need frequent factory resets, dismantling or adjustment simply because a month has passed.

Our practical routine is a brief monthly check, another after severe weather or nearby building work, and a fuller review twice a year. These are suggested intervals, not a manufacturer service requirement.

From a safe position:

  • Look for movement in the mount or visible cable damage.
  • Check accessible cable routes for crushing, rubbing and tension.
  • Keep indoor equipment ventilated and away from water.
  • Review app alerts and obstruction information.
  • Notice whether growing trees or new structures affect the sky view.
  • Record recurring dropouts and whether they affect every device.

Compare performance under similar conditions before assuming a change requires new hardware. A single speed test is a weak reason to disturb a reliable setup.

Use the cleaning instructions for your exact model if cleaning is necessary. Do not open sealed equipment, force moving parts or climb onto a roof for a routine inspection. Ask the installer to handle inaccessible or damaged components.
