Answer
How should I test Starlink before a pop-up event opens?
Test the actual event workload from the places where people will use it. A speed test beside the router does not establish that a payment terminal, check-in desk or presentation laptop works across the venue.
Before opening, run a test transaction through the payment provider's approved test procedure, try check-in or booking tools and make a normal video call if one is required. Test guest access separately from staff equipment. Check coverage with doors closed and the usual furniture in position.
Confirm that guests cannot reach staff devices or network management. Label the power supply and identify who can respond to a fault. With the organiser's agreement, test recovery from a controlled power interruption while the venue is still empty.
Keep an alternative for essential payments or communications. Crowds, interference and shared demand can change performance after opening, so leave room in the network plan for more than the empty-venue result.
