Questions & answers

Clear, practical answers to the things people want to know before and after choosing Starlink.

Answer

What should I do if my new house already has a Starlink dish installed?

Treat the installed hardware and the internet subscription as separate matters. A dish left on the roof does not establish that you can use the previous owner's subscription or that the hardware has been released.

Ask the previous owner for the agreed equipment list and completion of the official transfer process. Starlink's guidance for this situation directs new owners to obtain the identifier and activate the released hardware. If you cannot contact the previous owner, use official support for assistance.

Our move-in checklist is to inspect accessible cables and indoor equipment, identify the hardware model and arrange a safe inspection if the mount is inaccessible or looks damaged. Establish your own account and Wi-Fi credentials before connecting personal devices.

Do not remove or factory-reset equipment that still belongs to a landlord or another occupier. Clarify ownership and permissions first, then test your own activated service.
