Answer
Can I pause Starlink without cancelling my account?
Look for the pause or Standby Mode option on the relevant service line. Availability depends on the country, plan and offer, so do not assume every account can pause on identical terms.
Standby Mode is not simply a promise of free storage with unchanged full-speed service. The current service descriptions identify it as a restricted low-speed service and include eligibility limitations.
Before selecting it, check:
- The standby charge shown for your account.
- When the change takes effect.
- What connectivity remains available.
- What happens to any discount or bundle.
- The charge and timing for resuming.
- Whether your previous Residential option will still be available.
A pause may not stop the present billing period immediately or preserve every future option. Save the confirmation and check the next invoice.
For an upcoming trip, resume and test before reaching a remote location. If cameras or other unattended equipment depend on the connection, consider their needs before reducing service.
