Answer
How should I pack or stow Starlink before moving it?
Identify your hardware before using stow instructions. Some motorised Starlink dishes have an app-controlled transport position; manually aligned and fixed models should not be forced into an equivalent position.
If your model supports stow, follow its current instructions while the equipment is powered and accessible in the app. Once the required position is reached, disconnect power and cables in the sequence specified for that kit. Never push a motorised mechanism into place by hand.
Before packing:
- Check that the equipment and connectors are dry.
- Inspect for damage and stop if a cable or housing is compromised.
- Protect the dish face and connectors with suitable padding.
- Coil cables loosely without sharp bends or pressure on plugs.
- Keep small mounting parts together and label them.
Use the original packaging where practical, or a dry padded container that prevents movement in transit. Do not pack wet equipment into a sealed bag for storage.
Removing a permanent roof installation may need the installer. At the destination, recheck plan permissions, mounting security, power compatibility and the sky view before reconnecting.
