Answer
Can I keep my existing landline number when switching to Starlink?
Often you can move the number to a separate VoIP provider, but the provider must confirm that it can port your particular number. Starlink supplies the internet connection; it does not automatically take over the telephone service.
Ask the receiving phone provider to check eligibility, account details, the transfer date and any effect on bundled broadband. Keep the existing service active until the agreed migration process says otherwise. Cancelling independently can complicate a transfer.
For an older UK broadband service carried over the telephone line, porting the number may also cease that broadband. Confirm the sequence with both providers and test Starlink before relying on it.
Our practical recommendation is to trial the VoIP service with a temporary number, check incoming and outgoing calls, then arrange the port. Confirm voicemail, call forwarding and emergency-calling arrangements separately. The related remote-work video provides connectivity context; it is not a number-porting tutorial.
