Questions & answers

Clear, practical answers to the things people want to know before and after choosing Starlink.

Answer

Why does Starlink show Online but my device has no internet?

The dish can be online while a particular device has a local connection problem. First establish whether the failure affects one device, one Wi-Fi area or the whole home network.

Try a second device close to the main router. If it works:

  • Confirm the affected device joined the intended network.
  • Check its saved password and network settings.
  • Restart that device.
  • Reconnect to Wi-Fi using the correct credentials.
  • Investigate any device-specific VPN, filter or managed policy.

If several devices fail, examine any third-party router, switch or mesh equipment between them and Starlink. A simplified supported connection can help identify which layer introduces the problem.

Do not assume the Wi-Fi symbol proves internet access; it only shows a local wireless association. Equally, a successful app connection through mobile data does not establish that the phone's home Wi-Fi path works.

Record the results before resetting the entire network. The aim is to find the failing part while preserving working services.
