Answer
Is a wall mount a good option for Starlink?
A wall mount can be a useful option when it provides an adequate sky view and the building can support the correct mounting system. It is not automatically better than a ground or roof position.
Before choosing one, assess:
- Whether the roof edge or nearby building blocks the dish's view.
- Whether the bracket is compatible with the exact kit.
- What the wall is made from and where suitable fixings can be placed.
- Exposure to wind and the load transferred to the building.
- The cable entry and weatherproofing.
- Safe access for maintenance.
Use the app's obstruction assessment from the proposed position as closely as safe access permits. A clear result from elsewhere in the garden does not establish that a position beneath the eaves will work.
Ask an installer to specify the bracket and fixing approach for your structure. Do not choose stand-off distance or fixings solely from another user's photograph. Confirm any relevant property permissions before permanent work.
