Answer
Why does the Starlink obstruction map take time to appear after installation?
The phone's pre-installation sky scan and the dish's live obstruction map are different checks. The live map develops from the terminal's actual satellite connections after it comes online. Starlink says a complete map can take up to 12 hours to generate.
While it is building, leave the kit in its intended test position and check normal activities such as calls or streaming. Our recommendation is to note the time of interruptions and compare them with the app once more information is available.
Do not keep clearing the map or moving the dish every few minutes just to chase a prettier display. That makes the result harder to interpret. Equally, do not ignore an obvious unsafe mount or a tree directly blocking the required view while waiting for the map.
Use the completed information alongside real performance, not as a substitute for testing the tasks you need.
