Answer
Should my Starlink installer have my account password?
For a normal domestic installation, you can sign in on your own phone and complete account actions yourself while the installer explains what is needed. Installing a mount or cable does not require handing over permanent control of your account.
Agree beforehand who is providing the hardware, who owns the account and how activation will be completed. Our recommendation is to keep passwords, payment details and one-time verification codes private. If a managed service requires delegated access, establish its scope and removal process through the appropriate official arrangement.
At handover, confirm that you can view the kit in your account, manage billing and contact support. Record the Wi-Fi credentials separately from the Starlink account login.
If you previously shared a password, change it using the official account process and review recovery details. Also confirm how future installer support will work without leaving unnecessary access in place.
