Answer
What account steps should I take before selling my Starlink kit?
Check transfer eligibility in your own account before agreeing a handover date. Cancelling service and releasing the hardware for another owner are separate parts of the process; a factory reset alone does not transfer the kit.
Follow Starlink's current cancellation and transfer instructions for the specific service line. Read the confirmation carefully because releasing a kit removes it from your account. Resolve any outstanding balance or eligibility restriction through official support.
Our handover checklist is to include the agreed components, inspect and photograph their condition, reset the router as instructed and provide the hardware identifier privately to the buyer. Keep your account login, payment details and verification codes to yourself.
Retain the sale record and review the account afterward to confirm the intended service was ended. If other dishes share the account, check that their subscriptions remain as intended.
