How to Fix Starlink Keeps Disconnecting – Wi-Fi, Dish Alignment & Obstruction Fix Guide

Patchwave Tutorials presents a guide to fixing Starlink disconnections involving Wi-Fi, dish alignment, and obstructions. Starlink Tips viewing notes: Record the time and symptoms before changing settings. Compare one device near the router with a working wired connection where supported, and inspect the Starlink app for matching interruptions. Change one factor at a time so a temporary improvement is not mistaken for a diagnosis. For faults that begin after an update, retain the version information and avoid unsupported firmware downloads. The written guide and related answers provide a repeatable test sequence. Match any demonstration to your own kit; a step appropriate to one generation may not apply to another. Questions about this video

Straight answers to the questions readers ask most often.

What does a red light on my Starlink router mean?

The meaning depends on the hardware model, so identify the router before following a colour-based checklist. In the Standard 4 X setup guide, a red Router 3 light indicates no internet connection; it does not identify the underlying cause.

Our diagnostic order is to read the Starlink app's status and alerts, establish whether every device is affected, and check accessible power and cable connections safely. Record whether the problem followed a power cut, move or equipment change.

Use the current instructions for the exact model if a restart is needed, then allow startup to complete. Do not copy a reset sequence from a different generation.

A red indicator alone is not evidence that a replacement dish is required. If the fault persists, give support the hardware model, app message, start time and checks already completed.

What should I check if Starlink develops problems after a software update?

Record when the symptoms started, the software version shown if available, and the Starlink app's status and events. A problem appearing after an update is a reason to investigate, not proof that the update caused it.

Check whether every device is affected. Compare one device near the router with a working Ethernet connection where supported, and look for matching obstructions or outages. Note any concurrent changes to the router, cables, weather, VPN or household uploads.

Keep the app current and follow official troubleshooting. Avoid repeated resets, unofficial firmware files or unsupported rollback instructions. A factory reset can remove settings without addressing the cause and may destroy a useful comparison.

If the fault persists, give support the times, hardware model, version information and repeatable test results. Say what changed and what stayed the same. For broken meetings, the linked call-troubleshooting guide provides a structured sequence rather than a guess based only on update timing.
