Can I connect Starlink mesh nodes with Ethernet instead of Wi-Fi?
Yes, supported Starlink mesh configurations can use Ethernet between nodes. Starlink's Router 3 mesh guide includes a wired setup. Check the guide for your actual router and node models before choosing cables or ports.
A wired backhaul carries traffic between access points over a cable, reducing dependence on the wireless path through walls. It does not make an incompatible third-party mesh product a native Starlink node.
Our practical recommendation is to prove the main connection first, add one compatible node, and check the app or device status to confirm the intended connection. Test from a device near the new node before adding more equipment.
Avoid connecting extra cables in a way that creates network loops. If using third-party mesh, follow its own supported access-point or router configuration. Keep a simple diagram of the network so a future fault can be isolated without resetting everything.
