Starlink Mini contains its Wi-Fi radio in the terminal. A good outdoor satellite position can therefore leave the local Wi-Fi signal on the wrong side of a metal vehicle body or other barriers.

Our comparison is to test the same phone beside the Mini and then at the work seat inside the parked vehicle, close together in time. If the outdoor result is consistently better, investigate the local wireless path rather than immediately changing the service plan.

A supported Ethernet connection to suitable indoor networking equipment may be an option. Follow Mini's connection and weather-sealing requirements, and check compatibility before buying an additional router or mesh node.

Do not move the dish under a roof or behind an obstruction purely to improve indoor Wi-Fi. Solve the satellite view and the interior network as two connected but separate parts of the installation.

Compare your equipment with Starlink's official kit-identification guide and check the order or account details. Identify the router separately from the terminal because a replacement router may not match the original kit bundle.

Our practical record is a photograph of each component, its model information and the supplied cables. Keep serial numbers private. Use the exact hardware name when looking up a mount, cable, Ethernet connection or reset process.

Do not rely solely on a seller's informal label such as “Gen 3” or “latest version.” Naming can refer to the router, dish or kit package, and product names can change over time.

Once identified, use the matching specification sheet and installation guide. That avoids applying motorised-dish instructions to a manually aligned model or buying an adapter for a connector your kit does not have. If the equipment remains ambiguous, ask support before ordering parts.
