Starlink Is Slow at Night: How to Diagnose the Cause
Troubleshooting & Fixes
A slower evening connection can have different causes from a morning issue. Do not change everything at once—collect a few comparable tests and work from the evidence.
Make tests comparable
Use the same device and location, pause big household downloads, and run more than one test at different times. Record latency and upload as well as download speed.
Check local Wi-Fi first
Repeat a test close to the router or using a wired connection where appropriate. A busy or weak Wi-Fi link can look like a service slowdown.
Review app alerts and obstructions
Check for interruptions or obstruction notices. Evenings can coincide with household streaming, but that does not rule out a dish-location issue.
Use the findings to decide the next move
Improve Wi-Fi coverage if close-range tests are much better. If the whole connection varies with no local explanation, keep notes and use the official support route with clear examples.
