Starlink Says Disconnected: A Safe Troubleshooting Checklist

Troubleshooting & Fixes

Back to Troubleshooting & Fixes

A Disconnected status can have several causes. Work through safe checks in order, and avoid repeatedly resetting the system before you know what the app is reporting.

Read the app message first

Open the Starlink app and record the exact connection status, alerts and the time the problem began. Check whether an outage or account notification is shown before changing hardware.

Check safe physical basics

Confirm the router has power and inspect accessible cable runs for obvious damage, pinching or water exposure. Make sure connectors are seated properly without forcing them. Do not climb onto a roof or disturb a mounted dish in unsafe conditions.

Restart once, then wait

Use the app’s restart option where available. If you must power-cycle, do it once and allow the system time to initialise fully before judging the result.

Contact support with evidence

If the message persists, provide the app wording, start time, photos of any visible cable damage and what you have already tried.
