Starlink App Will Not Connect to Your Account: Troubleshooting Steps
Troubleshooting & Fixes
When the Starlink app will not sign in or connect to your account, separate the account problem from the internet problem. Your Starlink service may still be working even though the app cannot load account details, and the app may work over mobile data when your home connection does not.
Use this order to avoid unnecessary resets or loss of settings.
Identify the exact symptom
Note what happens when you open the app:
- The sign-in screen rejects the email or password
- A verification or password-reset message does not arrive
- The app signs in but shows no Starlink system
- Account pages will not load
- The app works on mobile data but not Wi-Fi
- Local router information appears, but remote account information does not
- The app closes, freezes or displays a general error
Take a screenshot without exposing passwords, payment information or recovery codes.
Check whether the phone has internet access
Open a few unrelated websites in the phone’s browser. Test once on Wi-Fi and once on mobile data if available.
If the app works on mobile data but not your Starlink Wi-Fi, the account is probably valid and the issue may involve the local connection, DNS, a VPN or filtering.
If neither connection works, test another device or network before changing account details.
Confirm you are using the official app
Install or update the Starlink app through the official Apple App Store or Google Play listing. Avoid unofficial downloads and links from messages or social-media replies.
Check that the phone’s date and time are set correctly. Incorrect time can sometimes interfere with secure sign-in services.
Close the app completely, restart the phone and try again before reinstalling it.
Verify the correct email address
Use the email address associated with the Starlink order or account. Search your inbox for genuine order confirmations or account messages if you are uncertain.
Common causes of sign-in failure include:
- A different email used at checkout
- A typing error
- An old work or personal address
- Automatic capitalisation or spaces
- A password manager filling the wrong account
Do not create a second account merely because the first one does not appear immediately.
Use the official recovery process
Request password or account recovery through the official Starlink app or website. Check spam, junk and filtered folders, and allow a reasonable time before submitting repeated requests.
Never share a password, one-time code, recovery link or full payment details with someone offering help. Starlink Tips cannot access or recover your account.
If you suspect the email account itself has been compromised, secure that email account first.
If the app shows no system
A successful sign-in with no system displayed can indicate the wrong account, an incomplete order, a transferred kit, or an account association that needs support.
Check:
- The email on the original order
- Whether the service was transferred
- Whether you have more than one Starlink account
- Whether the correct service location or line is selected
- Whether activation completed successfully
Do not repeatedly factory-reset working hardware to fix an account-association issue.
Disable temporary network complications
For a controlled test, temporarily disable:
- VPN connections
- Private relay features
- Custom DNS profiles
- Ad-blocking or security filters
- Corporate device-management restrictions
- Data-saving modes
Try the app again, then restore your normal privacy and security settings. If one feature causes the problem, investigate that feature rather than leaving protection disabled indefinitely.
Update, clear or reinstall carefully
Install current operating-system and app updates where practical. On devices that allow it, clearing the app cache may help.
Before uninstalling the app, confirm that you know the correct account email and can complete sign-in recovery. Reinstall only from the official store.
Reinstalling the app will not repair damaged outdoor equipment or a failed router; it only addresses the app installation on that device.
Check for a wider service issue
If the app and website both fail on several devices and networks, there may be a wider service problem. Check official Starlink notices and try again later before making major changes.
Record when the problem began and whether normal internet service continued. That evidence will help distinguish an app outage from a hardware failure.
Contact official support with useful evidence
If recovery fails, use Starlink’s official support route. Provide:
- The account email, partially obscured if communicating outside the secure support system
- Approximate order date
- Kit or order information requested through the official channel
- Exact error wording
- Phone model and operating system
- App version if available
- Whether Wi-Fi and mobile-data tests differ
- Steps already completed
Never post full account numbers, serial details, email addresses or screenshots containing private information on public forums.
Avoid these common mistakes
- Factory-resetting a working router to solve a password problem
- Creating multiple accounts without checking the original email
- Clicking “support” links sent by unknown people
- Sharing one-time verification codes
- Changing several network settings at once
- Assuming the app problem proves the dish is offline
Quick recovery order
- Test the phone’s internet connection.
- Try Wi-Fi and mobile data separately.
- Confirm the official app is current.
- Restart the app and phone.
- Verify the correct email.
- Use official account recovery.
- Test without VPN or custom filtering.
- Check for wider service issues.
- Contact official support with evidence.
