How to Check Starlink Service Status Before You Start Troubleshooting

Tips & Tricks

Back to Tips & Tricks

When Starlink goes offline, the fastest fix is sometimes to do nothing for a few minutes. First establish whether the issue is inside your home, at the dish or wider than your installation.

Open the app and read the status

Look for service alerts, connection state, obstructions and hardware messages. Take a screenshot or note the wording before restarting anything—messages can disappear after a reboot.

Compare more than one device

If one phone cannot connect but another device works, the problem is probably local Wi-Fi rather than Starlink service. If every device is offline, check router power, cable connections and the app’s current status.

Check the physical basics safely

Make sure plugs are secure and cables are not pinched, damaged or exposed to water. Do not climb onto a roof or disturb a mounted dish during poor weather; deal with safe, ground-level checks first.

Escalate with useful evidence

If the issue continues, provide the time it began, the exact app message and the troubleshooting already completed. That saves time with support.
