How to Prepare Your Home for a Starlink Installation Day
Starlink Installers
A little preparation helps an installation day run smoothly and gives you a better chance of ending with Wi-Fi that works where you need it.
Decide where the router should live
Choose an open, practical indoor location with power and good access to the rooms where Wi-Fi matters. Do not automatically choose the closest point to the dish if it leaves the router hidden at one end of the home.
Clear access safely
Make sure the installer can reach agreed ground-level areas and indoor cable routes. Mention pets, locked gates, delicate surfaces, parking constraints and any access restrictions in advance.
Keep realistic alternatives ready
Use the app to identify more than one possible dish location in case the preferred route is unsafe or obstructed. Discuss the trade-off before work starts.
Test before sign-off
Check that the app shows a healthy connection, connect a device where you normally use it and ask for a walk-through of the route and equipment.
