United Kingdom — GBP
- Residential 100 Mbps: £40 per month.

The UK page did not list a Roam 300GB option when checked. Hardware, delivery, installation, taxes and promotional terms should be checked separately in the regional checkout. Start with how you actually travel
The right Roam allowance depends less on the name of the plan and more on what happens on a normal trip. A family streaming television each evening, downloading game updates and using video calls will use far more data than someone checking maps, email and messaging.
Write down the devices that will connect, the number of people travelling, and the activities that matter when mobile signal is poor.
Estimate the heavy uses first
The biggest data users are usually video streaming, cloud backups, console updates, video calls and large downloads. Reduce uncertainty by downloading maps, films and software updates while on home Wi-Fi before leaving.
For work trips, test the actual setup: laptop, video calls, VPN, cloud files and any security cameras. A plan that feels adequate for messaging can be frustrating for a full working day.

Match the plan to the job
- Choose a lower allowance when the service is mainly a backup or occasional travel connection.
- Choose a larger allowance when you expect regular remote work or family use.
- Choose an unlimited option only when the added cost is justified by predictable heavy use.
Starlink may offer account-specific options such as a standby mode. Treat the checkout as the source of truth for your account and country.
Make the data last longer
Set streaming apps to a sensible quality, pause automatic cloud-photo uploads, and schedule system updates. Monitor usage inside the Starlink account rather than guessing.
Important travel checks
Roam use outside the home country, in-motion use and maritime use can have separate rules. Confirm the current terms for every country and type of travel you intend to make.

Build a data estimate from a representative trip
Use a recent trip or a few normal working days as a sample. Record the number of days, connected devices and total data consumed. Note unusual events such as a large operating-system download so you can distinguish normal use from a one-off transfer.
For an arithmetic example, measured use of 4 GB per day across 12 days would total 48 GB. Adding an illustrative 25% reserve gives 60 GB. This is a planning example, not a recommended allowance or an estimate of what every traveller uses.
Repeat the estimate for your busiest likely trip. A plan that fits two quiet weekends may not fit a family holiday or a week of video meetings.
Decide what happens if the estimate is exceeded
Read the current offer's treatment of exhausted data and any additional-data controls before travel. Write down whether you would buy more data, reduce optional activity or use another connection. Keep essential work separate from downloads that can wait.
Check usage early in the trip, then compare actual consumption with your estimate. If it is unexpectedly high, inspect cloud backups, updates, connected televisions and other devices rather than simply assuming the allowance is wrong.
Using Ethernet may help connection stability, but it does not by itself reduce the amount of data needed for the same download or stream. Data savings come from the activity, quality settings and background transfers you choose.

Treat them as advertised monthly starting prices, subject to address availability, rather than a personalised quote. The 100 Mbps and 200 Mbps Residential tiers are available only in selected areas.
- United Kingdom (GBP): Residential 100/200/Max from £40/£60/£80 per month; Roam 100GB/Unlimited from £55/£100 per month. No UK Roam 300GB plan was listed.
- United States (USD): Residential 100/200/Max from $55/$85/$130 per month; Roam 100GB/300GB/Unlimited from $55/$80/$175 per month.

Hardware and installation offers checked on 1 October 2026
The UK Residential page advertises no upfront hardware cost in selected areas. The UK Roam page advertises hardware starting from £179 in selected areas. These are conditional advertised offers, not a universal kit price or proof of ownership. Confirm rental or purchase terms, delivery, taxes and installation for your address.
With United States selected, the US Residential page advertises no upfront hardware cost in selected areas and free professional home installation with Residential 200 Mbps and Residential Max. Confirm eligibility, included work and any extra charges in your address-specific quote. A standalone US Roam hardware price and a current UK professional-installation price were not verified in this check; no new figure is asserted for either.
