Starlink availability is address-specific. Enter the address where the service will be used on Starlink’s official availability page before comparing plans or paying for equipment. This shows whether service is available now, whether an area has limited capacity, and the current equipment and installation offer.
Do not assume that a neighbour’s result, a postcode-level advert or a previous visit to the checkout still applies to your address. Network capacity and offers can change.
Check the installation before buying
A suitable position needs a clear view of the sky. Use the Starlink app’s obstruction tool at the proposed dish location and test more than one position if trees, chimneys or rooflines are nearby. A clear result matters more than whether the dish is mounted high.
Make a simple route plan for the cable, router and power supply. Check that the dish can be secured safely and that the cable will not create a trip hazard, pinch point or water-entry route.

If the address check and your installation survey disagree
Treat ordering eligibility and a workable dish position as separate checks. A checkout offer does not assess the trees, neighbouring buildings or cable route at your property.
Our suggested next step is to record the proposed dish location, take an obstruction scan from a safely accessible position and sketch the cable route. If you rent, obtain the permission needed for the installation before ordering accessories. If a roof or tall mast is the only likely option, ask an installer to assess it rather than purchasing a collection of brackets first.
When the website cannot identify an unusual rural address, check the selected service location carefully and ask Starlink to clarify any mismatch. Keep the shipping address separate from the location where you expect the service to operate.

Write down three tasks your current connection struggles with. Examples might be a long video meeting, uploading product photographs or several people streaming at once. Use that list when comparing the cost of Starlink with local wired and mobile alternatives.
