Why does Starlink activation say my device is already assigned to an account?
The hardware may still be linked to an existing Starlink account. Starlink's activation guidance says a kit already assigned to another account cannot simply be activated again as a new device.
First check whether you bought directly using your own account, purchased through a retailer, or received a used kit. A direct order may already belong on your existing service line, so avoid trying to create another account unnecessarily.
For a used kit, ask the seller to complete the official hardware-release process. For a retail purchase or an unexpected mismatch, contact official support with the purchase evidence and identifier.
A router factory reset changes local configuration; it does not remove the hardware's account association. Do not pay an unofficial service claiming it can unlock the dish. Keep the seller's login private and use your own account for legitimate activation.
