How to Compare Starlink Mounting Quotes Before Booking an Installer

Starlink Installers

Back to Starlink Installers

Research checked 1 November 2026. Use this worksheet to compare installation proposals. It does not specify structural fixings or replace a site assessment.

Give each installer the same brief

Start with the dish and router model, the proposed indoor router position and what you want the connection to serve. Explain any access constraints and whether you have the owner's permission for alterations. Share photographs only where you are comfortable doing so; remove unrelated identifying details.

Ask the installer to assess the sky view and installation location rather than quoting for a roof position solely because it looks tidy. Starlink's accessories guidance distinguishes a quick ground-level test setup from mounting options intended for permanent installation.

Ask for exact part identification

Request the mount name, model and any adapters in writing. “Fits Starlink” is not a complete compatibility statement. Ask who confirms the combination suits your exact dish and installation surface, and where the manufacturer's instructions can be read.

For third-party products, ask the installer to identify the product maker, compatibility evidence and applicable warranty. Do not assume a listing on a mount-finder site is manufacturer approval or a structural assessment.

Compare the whole job

Put each quotation against the same list:

  • Proposed location and reason for choosing it.
  • Mount, adapters and any additional support structure.
  • Site assessment, access equipment and labour included.
  • Cable type, route, entry point and finishing work.
  • Weatherproofing responsibilities and any roof-warranty implications.
  • Indoor connection and the equipment the installer will configure.
  • Testing, handover, call-back arrangements and exclusions.

A cheaper total may omit cable routing or access equipment. Ask for exclusions to be explicit before comparing prices. If an item is provisional, find out what would trigger extra cost and how you would approve it.

Agree the handover before installation

Ask for an accessible record of the installed parts, cable route and relevant instructions. Agree which ordinary tasks will be demonstrated: loading websites, making a call and checking coverage where you actually use the connection.

Keep passwords and account credentials under your control. If an installer needs account access, discuss the least access necessary and remove it when the agreed work is complete. A mounting appointment should not silently become a permanent account-management arrangement.

If the location requires specialist roof or structural work, ask the appropriate professional to assess it. Starlink recommends professional help when you are uncomfortable completing an installation. There is no need to climb onto a roof yourself to collect a quote.
