Before You Buy a Campervan Internet Bundle: A Requirements Worksheet

Campervans, Motorhomes & RVs

Back to Campervans, Motorhomes & RVs

Research checked 1 November 2026. This is a buying worksheet, not a claim that one bundle works at every campsite. Complete it before choosing a supplier.

Start with a real journey

Choose a typical trip and one difficult stop. Write down where you will park, whether you can place a dish outside, how long you need internet and the tasks that matter. Separate an occasional message from a work call that cannot wait. A list of devices alone does not describe the job.

For each stop, note what you have actually tested and what remains unknown. A phone working beside the road does not prove the same connection will work inside a metal vehicle at the pitch. Likewise, open sky at one campsite says little about a wooded destination.

Make an existing-equipment list

List your dish, router, hotspot, antenna and power equipment by exact model. Add the cables and adapters already owned. Photograph labels privately and share only the model details a supplier needs. Ask which parts of the proposed bundle reuse that equipment and which replace it.

For Starlink, check the official instructions for your kit's Ethernet connection before accepting a router recommendation. Most kits support third-party equipment, but ports and adapter needs differ. Do not assume a bundle can connect merely because both products advertise Wi-Fi.

Give the supplier a practical brief

Send these questions with your requirements:

  • Will this operate while parked, while moving, or both under the relevant hardware, plan and country rules?
  • What does the quoted price include: router, dish, cellular modem, antenna, cables, power supply and installation?
  • Which paid services, software licences and data subscriptions are additional?
  • What remains working if one internet source fails?
  • Who supports the complete setup if the components work separately but not together?
  • What can I test during the return period, and what conditions apply?

Do not treat “mobile” in a product name as permission to use Starlink in motion. Check Starlink's current hardware and service rules for your destination.

Ask for a demonstration you can repeat

Write an acceptance test before buying: set up at ground level, connect the devices you need, make a representative call and run an ordinary upload. For a mixed connection, ask how to verify which source is active and how to restore the original setup. Keep any test within the supplier's instructions and the plan's data allowance.

Set a total budget including recurring services and support. Leave the live Starlink price to its checkout rather than copying a price from a foreign retailer.
